  1. Provide comprehensive and compassionate care to expectant mothers and their families.
  2. Monitor and assess the health and well-being of both mother and child during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Educate patients and families on prenatal care, childbirth, and postpartum care.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  6. Document patient care and outcomes accurately and thoroughly.
  7. Utilize critical thinking skills to identify and respond to potential complications during pregnancy and childbirth.
  8. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and adhere to infection control protocols.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  10. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in high-risk maternity care.
  11. Advocate for the needs and concerns of patients and their families.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) Or Higher: A Bsn Is Typically Required For A Registered Nurse Position, And Is Especially Important For A High Risk Maternity Role. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice, As Well As Specialized Coursework In Maternity And Neonatal Care.

  • Active And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Practice: Registered Nurses Must Be Licensed In The State Where They Practice, And This License Must Be Active And In Good Standing. This Ensures That The Nurse Has Met All Necessary Requirements And Is Able To Provide Safe And Competent Care.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In High Risk Maternity Nursing: This Position Requires A Nurse With A Significant Amount Of Experience In High Risk Maternity Care. This Experience Helps The Nurse To Develop Critical Thinking Skills And The Ability To Manage Complex Medical Situations.

  • Current Bls And Nrp Certifications: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certifications Are Essential For Any Nurse Working In A High Risk Maternity Setting. These Certifications Ensure That The Nurse Is Trained In Emergency Interventions And Can Quickly Respond To Any Complications That May Arise During Delivery.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Registered Nurse In A High Risk Maternity Unit, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial. The Nurse Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Providers To Ensure The Best Possible Outcomes For Both Mother And Baby.
