- Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients in the operating room.
- Utilize specialized training and expertise as an RNFA to assist surgeons during surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency and knowledge in surgical techniques and procedures.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe and sterile surgical environment.
- Monitor and assess patient's condition before, during, and after surgery, and provide appropriate interventions as needed.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and provide resources for continued recovery.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in surgical techniques and technology.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment by being a team player and displaying a strong work ethic.

Current Rnfa Certification: The Candidate Must Hold A Current Rnfa Certification From An Accredited Organization, Such As The National Institute Of First Assistants (Nifa) Or The Association Of Perioperative Registered Nurses (Aorn).
Minimum Education Requirement: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Nursing Is Required For This Position, Although A Bachelor's Degree Is Often Preferred. Some Positions May Also Require Additional Education In Surgical Technology Or A Related Field.
Operating Room Experience: Sutter Health Seeks Candidates With A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In The Operating Room, Preferably In A Surgical First Assistant Role. This Experience Should Include A Variety Of Surgical Procedures And The Ability To Function Independently In The Role Of An Rnfa.
Strong Clinical Skills: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Possess Strong Clinical Skills And A Thorough Understanding Of Surgical Procedures, Instrumentation, And Equipment Used In The Operating Room. This Includes The Ability To Anticipate The Needs Of The Surgeon And Provide Assistance During Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork: As A Member Of The Surgical Team, The Rnfa Must Have Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Well With Others In A Fast-Paced Environment. The Candidate Should Also Possess Strong Critical Thinking Skills And The Ability To Make Quick Decisions During Emergencies.
