- Conducting sleep studies: Perform diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies and accurately document physiological and sleep-related information.
- Patient care: Provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients throughout the sleep study process and ensure their comfort and safety.
- Equipment maintenance: Set up and calibrate sleep study equipment and ensure it is functioning properly throughout the study. Troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
- Data analysis and interpretation: Analyze sleep study results and accurately interpret data to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.
- Documentation and record-keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, sleep study results, and any other relevant documentation in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Quality control and compliance: Ensure that all sleep studies adhere to industry standards and protocols to maintain quality and compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Collaboration and communication: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care for patients and communicate pertinent information regarding sleep study results and patient progress.
- Patient education: Educate patients on sleep disorders, treatment options, and the use of sleep equipment to promote understanding and compliance.
- Continuing education: Stay up-to-date with current practices, techniques, and equipment in the field by attending seminars, workshops, and other educational opportunities.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other members of the Sleep Lab team to ensure efficient and effective operations, as well as maintain a positive and supportive work environment.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Certification As A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) By The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Polysomnographic Technologist In A Sleep Lab Or Related Setting.
Knowledge Of And Ability To Perform A Variety Of Sleep Diagnostic Procedures, Including Overnight Polysomnography, Sleep Latency Testing, And Multiple Sleep Latency Testing.
Familiarity With Sleep Disorders And Their Associated Treatments, As Well As Current Industry Standards And Best Practices.
