Job Description

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at Sutter Health as a Polysomnographic Technologist.As a Polysomnographic Technologist, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders by conducting and interpreting sleep studies, monitoring patients during sleep, and collaborating with physicians to develop treatment plans. You will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment and make a positive impact on the lives of our patients.To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be a registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or have a current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).   1. Conduct and interpret sleep studies to diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
  2. Monitor patients during sleep and adjust equipment as needed.
  3. Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans for patients.
  4. Use state-of-the-art equipment to perform sleep studies.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed records of sleep studies and patient progress.
  6. Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in the field of sleep medicine.
  7. Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during sleep studies.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  9. Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals.
  10. Follow all protocols and guidelines for performing sleep studies.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  12. Adhere to all safety and infection control procedures.
  13. Troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and escalate to appropriate personnel as needed.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
  15. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding sleep disorders and treatment options.
  16. Maintain current registration or licensure as required for the position.
  17. Attend training and continuing education opportunities to maintain knowledge and skills.
  18. Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  19. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  20. Continuously strive to improve the quality of care and services provided to patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Possession Of A Valid Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Certification From The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Conducting And Interpreting Sleep Studies In A Clinical Setting.

  • Proficient In The Use Of Various Polysomnographic Equipment And Software, Such As Eeg, Eog, Emg, And Respiratory Monitoring Devices.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Patients And Healthcare Team Members.

  • Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders, Their Symptoms, And Treatment Methods, As Well As Current Industry Standards And Best Practices.
