Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Physical Therapy: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Physical Therapy Is Required For This Role, And Many Employers Prefer Candidates With A Master's Degree.
State Licensure: All Physical Therapists Must Be Licensed To Practice In The State Where They Are Employed. This Includes Passing A National Exam And Meeting Any Additional State-Specific Requirements.
Experience In Case Management: Candidates Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Physical Therapist, With A Focus On Case Management. This Includes Experience In Developing Treatment Plans, Coordinating Care With Other Healthcare Professionals, And Managing Patient Progress.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial In This Role. Physical Therapist, Case Managers Must Also Be Able To Build Rapport And Work Collaboratively With A Diverse Team.
Knowledge Of Insurance And Reimbursement Processes: As A Case Manager, Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Insurance And Reimbursement Processes, Including Medicare And Medicaid Guidelines. This Will Allow Them To Effectively Advocate For Their Patients And Ensure They Receive The Necessary Care And Funding.
