- Procure pharmaceutical products from approved vendors in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of all necessary medications.
- Work closely with pharmacy staff to understand medication needs and make purchasing decisions accordingly.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Analyze market trends and stay updated on changes in pharmaceutical industry to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff, vendors, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient procurement processes.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders, deliveries, or pricing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliable and timely delivery of medications.
- Continuously review and improve purchasing processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Adhere to all regulations and guidelines related to pharmacy purchasing and inventory management.
- Participate in inventory audits and assist in resolving any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with accounting department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices.
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy buyers as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to make recommendations for improvements in procurement processes.
Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy Or Related Field With A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Purchasing, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Extensive Knowledge Of Pharmaceutical Products, Including Generic And Brand Name Drugs, And Various Purchasing Methods Such As Group Purchasing Organizations (Gpos) And Competitive Bidding.
Strong Negotiating Skills And Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Vendors And Suppliers.
Proficiency In Using Inventory Management Software And Other Purchasing Tools To Monitor Inventory Levels, Track Orders, And Analyze Data.
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Independently And Handle Multiple Tasks In A Fast-Paced Environment.
