As a Patient Services Representative, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for our patients and their families.   1. Greet and welcome patients and their families in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and resolving issues in a timely and effective manner.
  3. Schedule appointments and procedures for patients, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  4. Verify and update patient information, including insurance coverage and personal details.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient patient flow throughout the facility.
  6. Communicate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure timely follow-up.
  7. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  8. Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances from patients.
  9. Monitor patient wait times and ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner.
  10. Keep accurate records of patient interactions and update electronic medical records as needed.
  11. Assist with the coordination of patient transportation and accommodations, if necessary.
  12. Stay up-to-date on all hospital policies and procedures to provide accurate information to patients.
  13. Proactively identify and report any issues or concerns to the appropriate department or supervisor.
  14. Continuously strive to improve the patient experience and provide feedback on ways to enhance services.
  15. Attend and participate in team meetings and trainings to stay informed on changes and updates in procedures and protocols.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Good Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Crucial For A Patient Services Representative To Accurately Schedule Appointments, Communicate With Healthcare Providers, And Maintain Patient Records.

  • Customer Service Experience: As The Primary Point Of Contact For Patients, A Patient Services Representative Must Have Previous Experience In Customer Service To Handle Inquiries, Complaints, And Difficult Situations With Professionalism And Empathy.

  • Multitasking And Organizational Skills: The Role Of A Patient Services Representative Requires The Ability To Juggle Multiple Tasks, Such As Scheduling Appointments, Answering Phone Calls, And Verifying Insurance, While Maintaining A High Level Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail.

  • Familiarity With Electronic Medical Records (Emr) Systems: Sutter Health Uses An Electronic Medical Records System To Manage Patient Information. Therefore, Experience With Emr Systems And Proficiency In Computer Skills Is A Necessary Qualification For This Role.
