As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive and seamless experience for our patients, from the moment they enter our facilities.   1. Greet and welcome patients and visitors to Sutter Health facilities in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Ensure a positive and welcoming atmosphere for patients by providing exceptional customer service.
  3. Verify patient information and insurance coverage to facilitate a smooth check-in process.
  4. Schedule and coordinate appointments and procedures for patients, as well as handle any necessary rescheduling or cancellations.
  5. Collect and process patient co-payments and payments for services rendered.
  6. Answer and direct incoming phone calls and inquiries to the appropriate department or staff member.
  7. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
  8. Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and efficient patient flow throughout the facility.
  9. Educate patients on their rights and responsibilities, as well as any necessary pre-visit instructions.
  10. Handle and resolve patient concerns, complaints, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  11. Stay updated on all Sutter Health policies, procedures, and services to provide accurate information to patients.
  12. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  13. Assist with various administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and other duties as assigned.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and provide feedback to enhance the patient experience.
  15. Attend training sessions and meetings to stay current on job responsibilities and changes in procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Insurance And Billing: Patient Access Representatives At Sutter Health Are Responsible For Verifying Insurance Coverage, Obtaining Authorizations, And Processing Billing Information. Therefore, Knowledge Of Medical Insurance And Billing Procedures Is A Key Qualification For This Role.
