- Serve as the first point of contact for all patient inquiries and concerns.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience for all patients.
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate patient records.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and gather necessary information for billing purposes.
- Collect and process patient payments.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient operations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on all policies, procedures, and regulations related to patient care and customer service.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Patient Access Representative At Sutter Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates The Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary To Perform The Job Duties.
Excellent Communication Skills: Patient Access Representatives Must Have Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes Being Able To Explain Complex Information In A Clear And Understandable Manner.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Working Knowledge Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For A Patient Access Representative. This Will Allow Them To Accurately Input Patient Information And Understand Medical Records And Insurance Documents.
Experience In Healthcare Administration: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting Or In An Administrative Role Is Preferred For This Position. This Demonstrates A Familiarity With The Healthcare Industry And An Understanding Of The Processes And Procedures Involved.
Customer Service Skills: Patient Access Representatives Serve As The First Point Of Contact For Patients, And Therefore Must Possess Excellent Customer Service Skills. This Includes Being Able To Handle Difficult Situations With Empathy, Patience, And Professionalism.
