- Assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders.
- Conduct preliminary eye exams and record patient history.
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist during exams and surgeries.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and treatment plans.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
- Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic equipment.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Uphold the standards and values of Sutter Health in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
- Continuously strive for excellence in patient care and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Attend trainings and conferences to stay updated on latest developments in ophthalmic technology and procedures.
- Foster a positive and welcoming environment for patients and colleagues.
- Support and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the department.
- Comply with all legal and ethical standards in the field of ophthalmology.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the department.
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Coa) Or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Credential.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting.
Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Equipment And Procedures, Including Refraction, Spectacle And Contact Lens Fitting, And Ocular Imaging.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Multitask In A Fast-Paced Environment.
