As an OB Tech, you will play a critical role in supporting our labor and delivery unit and ensuring the safety and comfort of our expectant mothers. - Assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges in the labor and delivery unit.
- Preparing delivery rooms and ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
- Setting up and maintaining equipment and supplies for procedures and deliveries.
- Assisting with the care and monitoring of patients during labor and delivery.
- Providing emotional support and comfort to expectant mothers and their families.
- Assisting with the delivery of babies, including assisting with C-sections and other procedures.
- Documenting patient information and procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborating with the nursing team to provide high-quality care and support to patients.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment and following infection control protocols.
- Participating in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrating sensitivity and cultural competence when working with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
- Adhering to all hospital and department policies and procedures.
- Actively participating in quality improvement initiatives and identifying areas for improvement in patient care.
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information and following HIPAA guidelines.
- Upholding the values and mission of Sutter Health and promoting a positive work environment.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent
Cpr/Bls Certification
Completion Of An Accredited Ob Technician Program
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Equipment Used In Obstetrics
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Labor And Delivery Or Obstetrics.
