- Conduct Nuclear Medicine procedures: Perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures using specialized equipment and techniques to produce quality images for diagnosis and treatment purposes.
- Patient care: Provide compassionate and high-quality patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and addressing any concerns or fears that patients may have.
- Maintain and operate equipment: Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for accurate imaging results. Troubleshoot any equipment issues and report malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Radiation safety: Adhere to all radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure to radiation.
- Record-keeping: Accurately record patient information, procedure details, and maintain electronic medical records in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with medical team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Compliance: Follow all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
- Quality control: Perform quality control procedures to ensure accurate and high-quality images are produced.
- Continuing education: Stay current on advancements in nuclear medicine technology and techniques through continuing education and training opportunities.
- Patient scheduling: Assist in scheduling patient appointments and maintaining an organized and efficient workflow in the department.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other technologists and staff to ensure smooth operations and provide support when needed.
- Patient advocacy: Advocate for patients and their needs by providing a comfortable and safe environment during procedures.
- Adhere to ethical standards: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of patient care.
- Ad hoc duties: Perform any other related duties as assigned by the department or hospital administration.
Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology Or A Related Field.
Certification From The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (Nmtcb) Or The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Nuclear Medicine Technologist In An Outpatient Imaging Setting.
Knowledge And Proficiency In Operating And Maintaining Nuclear Medicine Equipment And Performing Various Procedures, Such As Pet Scans, Spect Scans, And Bone Scans.
Experience With Electronic Medical Records And Strong Computer Skills For Documentation And Record-Keeping Purposes.
