- Providing exceptional patient care: This includes greeting patients, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Performing administrative tasks: Medical assistants are responsible for scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and handling insurance and billing information.
- Conducting diagnostic tests and procedures: Phlebotomists are responsible for collecting blood samples and performing lab tests, while urgent care professionals may administer medications, perform X-rays, or assist with minor procedures.
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment: All team members are responsible for following infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.

Certification: A Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, Or Urgent Care Job At Sutter Health Typically Requires Candidates To Have A Relevant Certification, Such As A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Cpt) Credential.
Experience: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, Or In An Urgent Care Setting.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For This Role, As Medical Assistants, Phlebotomists, And Urgent Care Staff Are Responsible For Accurately Documenting Patient Information And Communicating With Healthcare Professionals.
Interpersonal Skills: As A Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, Or Urgent Care Staff Member, You Will Be Interacting With Patients Of All Ages And Backgrounds. Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Including Communication, Empathy, And Patience, Are Crucial For Ensuring A Positive Patient Experience.
Ability To Multitask: In A Fast-Paced Urgent Care Setting, Medical Assistants, Phlebotomists, And Urgent Care Staff Must Be Able To Juggle Multiple Tasks At Once, Such As Taking Patient Vitals, Completing Paperwork, And Assisting With Procedures. The Ability To Multitask Efficiently And Effectively Is A Must For This Role.
