  1. Develop and implement clinical documentation programs and initiatives to improve healthcare outcomes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  2. Oversee a team of clinical documentation specialists, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to optimize clinical documentation.
  4. Monitor and analyze documentation data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  5. Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to clinical documentation, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  6. Stay updated on industry changes and trends related to clinical documentation and make recommendations for process improvements as needed.
  7. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for clinical documentation best practices, providing guidance and education to team members and other stakeholders.
  8. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the clinical documentation team.
  9. Collaborate with the coding team to ensure accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation for proper coding and billing.
  10. Participate in audits and reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  11. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to clinical documentation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans to drive results.
  12. Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the progress and impact of clinical documentation initiatives.
  13. Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional development within the clinical documentation team.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Clinical Documentation Improvement, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Medical Coding And Billing Systems, Including Icd-10 And Cpt Coding.

  • Previous Experience Managing A Team And Developing Policies And Procedures Related To Clinical Documentation.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Healthcare Professionals And Departments To Improve Documentation Accuracy And Compliance.
