  1. Perform mammography exams on patients, following established protocols and ensuring patient safety at all times.
  2. Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  3. Operate mammography equipment, ensuring proper positioning and image quality for accurate diagnosis.
  4. Collaborate with radiologists and other medical professionals to provide accurate and timely results for patients.
  5. Maintain accurate and complete records of patient exams and procedures.
  6. Keep up-to-date with advancements in mammography technology and techniques, implementing new protocols and procedures as needed.
  7. Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, reporting any issues or needs to management.
  8. Provide compassionate and professional care to patients, ensuring their comfort and privacy at all times.
  9. Adhere to all safety and quality standards, following infection control protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  10. Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to maintain licensure and certification.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  12. Communicate with patients and their families in a caring and empathetic manner, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  13. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  14. Assist in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes.
  15. Represent Sutter Health in a professional and positive manner at all times, promoting our mission and values to patients and the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Arrt Certification - The First And Foremost Qualification For A Mammography Technologist At Sutter Health Would Be Certification From The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt). This Certification Demonstrates An Individual's Competency And Knowledge In The Field Of Mammography.

  • State Licensure - Along With Arrt Certification, A Mammography Technologist Would Also Need To Be Licensed By The State Of California In Order To Work At Sutter Health. This Ensures That The Individual Meets All Necessary Education And Training Requirements To Safely Perform Mammography Procedures.

  • Experience With Digital Mammography - Sutter Health Utilizes Digital Mammography Technology, So Candidates With Prior Experience And Proficiency In This Area Would Be Preferred. This Includes Knowledge Of Digital Imaging Techniques And The Ability To Troubleshoot Technical Issues.

  • Knowledge Of Breast Anatomy And Pathology - A Strong Understanding Of Breast Anatomy And Pathology Is Essential For A Mammography Technologist. This Includes Knowledge Of Different Types Of Breast Cancer And The Ability To Interpret Mammography Images Accurately.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills - As A Mammography Technologist At Sutter Health, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary. This Includes The Ability To Explain Procedures To Patients, Communicate Effectively With Other Healthcare Professionals, And Provide Compassionate Care To Patients During Potentially Sensitive Procedures.
