- Perform high-quality mammography exams using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the exam, addressing any concerns and providing clear instructions.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to accurately interpret and report mammography findings.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including exam results, patient history, and any necessary follow-up care.
- Adhere to all safety and quality control standards to ensure accurate and effective imaging.
- Educate patients on the importance of regular mammography screenings and provide information on breast health and self-examinations.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in mammography technology and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to provide excellent patient care and customer service.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Comply with all HIPAA and privacy regulations to protect patient information.
- Represent Sutter Health in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Completion Of An Accredited Radiography Program: A Qualified Mammography Technologist Should Have Completed A Formal Education Program In Radiography And Obtained A Degree Or Certificate From An Accredited Institution.
Arrt Certification In Mammography: The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) Offers Certification In Mammography, Which Ensures That The Individual Has Met The Necessary Educational And Clinical Requirements To Perform Mammograms.
State Licensure: Most States Require Mammography Technologists To Be Licensed In Order To Practice. This Ensures That They Have Met The Necessary Competency Standards And Are Legally Allowed To Perform Mammograms.
Experience In Mammography: While Not Always Required, Most Employers Prefer Mammography Technologists To Have Some Experience In Performing Mammograms. This Ensures That They Are Familiar With The Equipment And Techniques Used In This Specific Imaging Modality.
