Job Description

As a Mammography Technologist, you will play a vital role in detecting and diagnosing breast cancer, while also providing support and comfort to patients during their screenings.   1. Perform mammography screenings and diagnostic procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  2. Operate mammography equipment and ensure proper positioning and image quality.
  3. Review patient medical history and assess any potential contraindications for mammography.
  4. Provide education and instructions to patients regarding the mammography procedure and answer any questions or concerns.
  5. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure proper documentation of all procedures.
  6. Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to accurately interpret and report on mammography images.
  7. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report any malfunctions or issues.
  8. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients during their screenings.
  9. Stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and advancements in mammography technology and procedures.
  10. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  11. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records and data.
  13. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and improving the health of the community.
  15. Maintain certification and licensure in mammography and participate in continuing education to stay current in the field.
  16. Follow all policies and procedures set forth by Sutter Health.
  17. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Radiologic Technology Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Mammography Technologist.

  • Proficiency In Operating And Maintaining Mammography Equipment.

  • Valid Certification As A Mammography Technologist By The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt).

  • Knowledge Of Current Mammography Technology, Techniques, And Safety Protocols.
