- Provide compassionate and individualized care to new mothers and their babies during their breastfeeding journey.
- Promote and support breastfeeding as the optimal method of infant feeding.
- Conduct thorough assessments of mothers and infants to identify any breastfeeding challenges or issues.
- Develop individualized care plans and provide education on breastfeeding techniques and infant nutrition.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of mothers and babies to ensure successful breastfeeding.
- Offer support and guidance to mothers experiencing difficulties with breastfeeding, such as low milk supply or latch issues.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of consultations and interventions.
- Keep up-to-date with current research and trends in lactation and infant nutrition.
- Educate and train other healthcare professionals on breastfeeding and lactation.
- Communicate effectively with mothers and their families to address any concerns or questions.
- Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for new mothers and their families.
- Adhere to all policies and protocols of Sutter Health and follow appropriate safety measures.
- Continuously strive to improve the quality of care provided to patients.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
Certified Lactation Consultant (Clc) Or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (Ibclc) Credentials.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Nutrition, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Lactation Support And Education.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Breastfeeding Techniques And Challenges.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Support New Mothers And Their Families.
