- Support the daily operations of the inpatient pharmacy by accurately and efficiently filling medication orders and completing necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications to patients.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug names, and drug dosages to accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of medication storage requirements and assist in inventory management to ensure an adequate supply of medications at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals by addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Adhere to all safety and quality standards, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Assist in training and mentoring new pharmacy technicians and students, as needed.
- Continuously update and maintain knowledge of new medications, drug interactions, and pharmacy regulations to ensure safe and effective medication use.
- Collaborate with insurance companies and other third-party payers to obtain prior authorizations and resolve any billing issues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of medication dispensing and patient information in compliance with state and federal regulations.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For An Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Ii Position Would Be A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (Cpht): Sutter Health May Require Candidates To Possess A Certification From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb).
Previous Experience In A Hospital Or Inpatient Pharmacy Setting: Experience In An Inpatient Pharmacy Setting Is Usually Preferred For An Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Ii Position.
