  1. Support the daily operations of the inpatient pharmacy by accurately and efficiently filling medication orders and completing necessary documentation.
  2. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications to patients.
  3. Utilize advanced knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug names, and drug dosages to accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions.
  4. Maintain a thorough understanding of medication storage requirements and assist in inventory management to ensure an adequate supply of medications at all times.
  5. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals by addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Adhere to all safety and quality standards, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and adherence to infection control protocols.
  7. Assist in training and mentoring new pharmacy technicians and students, as needed.
  8. Continuously update and maintain knowledge of new medications, drug interactions, and pharmacy regulations to ensure safe and effective medication use.
  9. Collaborate with insurance companies and other third-party payers to obtain prior authorizations and resolve any billing issues.
  10. Maintain accurate records and documentation of medication dispensing and patient information in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For An Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Ii Position Would Be A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (Cpht): Sutter Health May Require Candidates To Possess A Certification From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb).

  • Previous Experience In A Hospital Or Inpatient Pharmacy Setting: Experience In An Inpatient Pharmacy Setting Is Usually Preferred For An Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Ii Position.

  • Knowledge Of Medication Management And Dispensing Procedures: An Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Ii Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Medication Management And Dispensing Procedures.

  • Strong Communication And Organizational Skills: As An Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Ii, One Would Be Required To Communicate With Healthcare Professionals And Patients. Therefore, Strong Communication And Organizational Skills Are Essential For This Role.
