  • Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients in their final stages of life.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and nutrition.
  • Administer medication and treatments as directed by medical staff.
  • Monitor and document patient's condition and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during this sensitive time.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, following infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including nurses, social workers, and chaplains, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on hospice care practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality end-of-life care to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient care activities.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to provide timely and efficient care to patients.
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Continuously strive to improve the quality of care provided to patients through self-reflection and feedback from supervisors.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient care and plan of action.
  • Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and wishes are respected and addressed.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education: A Hospice Aide At Sutter Health Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education To Ensure They Have A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Patient Care.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Sutter Health Requires Hospice Aides To Have A Valid Cna Certification To Provide Quality Care To Patients. This Certification Demonstrates The Individual's Knowledge And Skills In Providing Direct Patient Care.

  • Cpr Certification: As Hospice Aides May Be Required To Provide Emergency Care To Patients, Sutter Health Requires All Candidates To Have A Current Cpr Certification.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates With Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Nursing Home, Are Preferred For Hospice Aide Positions At Sutter Health. This Experience Demonstrates The Individual's Comfort And Familiarity With Working In A Medical Environment.
