  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) department.
  2. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines related to health information management.
  3. Develop and implement strategies to promote the highest levels of quality and efficiency in the HIM department.
  4. Manage and mentor a team of healthcare professionals, providing guidance and support in their roles.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely retrieval and management of patient information.
  6. Monitor and analyze department metrics and data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in regulations related to health information management.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and external partners to ensure the department has necessary resources and tools.
  9. Create and maintain department policies and procedures, ensuring they are in line with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  10. Conduct regular staff trainings and evaluations to ensure the team is equipped with necessary skills and knowledge.
  11. Communicate and collaborate with senior leadership to provide updates on department performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  12. Manage budget and resources for the HIM department.
  13. Serve as a liaison between the HIM department and other departments within the organization.
  14. Handle any escalated issues or concerns related to the HIM department.
  15. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and employee engagement.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Health Information Management, With At Least 2 Years In A Leadership Or Management Role.

  • Strong Understanding Of Him Laws And Regulations, Including Hipaa And State-Specific Guidelines.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Various Healthcare Professionals And Stakeholders.

  • Proficient In Electronic Health Record Systems And Other Health Information Technology, With A Track Record Of Implementing And Optimizing Such Systems In A Healthcare Setting.
