- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors by following established protocols and standards.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting in patient rooms, common areas, and other designated areas.
- Handle and properly dispose of hazardous materials according to safety guidelines.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including but not limited to vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and carpet extractors.
- Restock supplies and notify management when inventory is low.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and efficient use of resources.
- Follow infection control procedures to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a sterile environment.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Attend training sessions and meetings to stay updated on new procedures, products, and safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by responding to requests and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Keep accurate records of cleaning and maintenance tasks performed.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For An Environmental Services Technician I At Sutter Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Academic Subjects And Can Effectively Communicate And Follow Instructions.
Previous Experience In Environmental Services Or Janitorial Work: Candidates With Prior Experience In A Similar Role Will Have A Better Understanding Of The Tasks And Responsibilities Involved In Maintaining A Clean And Safe Healthcare Environment. This Experience Also Demonstrates The Ability To Work Independently And Follow Established Protocols.
Knowledge Of Infection Control And Safety Protocols: An Environmental Services Technician I Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Infection Control Measures And Safety Protocols In A Healthcare Setting. This Includes Knowledge Of Proper Cleaning Techniques, Handling Of Hazardous Materials, And Use Of Personal Protective Equipment.
Physical Stamina And Ability To Lift Heavy Objects: This Role May Involve Frequent Standing, Walking, And Lifting Of Heavy Objects Such As Furniture And Equipment. Therefore, Candidates Should Possess Physical Stamina And Strength To Perform These Tasks Effectively And Safely.
