- Develop and implement environmental health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Train and educate employees on safety protocols and procedures to promote a culture of safety and prevent accidents and injuries.
- Investigate and report on incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and recommending preventative measures.
- Collaborate with department leaders to develop and implement emergency response plans in the event of a crisis or disaster.
- Monitor and maintain records of hazardous materials, ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in environmental health and safety to continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Identify and assess potential environmental risks and develop strategies to mitigate and/or eliminate them.
- Collaborate with outside agencies and vendors to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular safety training and drills for employees to ensure preparedness and compliance with safety protocols.
- Communicate and promote the importance of environmental health and safety to all employees, patients, and visitors of Sutter Health.
- Maintain all required records and documentation related to environmental health and safety, including incident reports, training records, and regulatory reports.
- Participate in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives to promote a healthy and eco-friendly environment.
- Serve as a resource for employees, providing guidance and support on safety and environmental health issues.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of environmental health and safety programs and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
Bachelor's Degree In Environmental Science, Occupational Health And Safety, Or Related Field.
At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Regulations And Standards Related To Environmental Health And Safety, Such As Osha, Epa, And Joint Commission Requirements.
Certification In Occupational Health And Safety, Such As Certified Safety Professional (Csp) Or Certified Industrial Hygienist (Cih), Is Preferred.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Independently And Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams.
