To succeed in this role, you must possess a Doctorate in Psychology, be licensed in the state of California, and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role.   1. Develop and implement the overall vision and strategy for the psychology program at Sutter Health.
  2. Lead and manage a team of psychologists, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health services.
  3. Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the psychology department, encouraging new ideas and approaches to improving patient care.
  4. Ensure that all psychologists are providing evidence-based and culturally competent care to patients.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to integrate mental health services into overall patient care plans.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and mental health organizations to expand access to mental health services.
  7. Monitor and analyze program outcomes and make necessary adjustments to ensure the program is meeting its goals and objectives.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in the field of psychology and incorporate them into the program.
  9. Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and training of new psychologists.
  10. Foster a positive and supportive work environment for psychologists, promoting professional growth and development.
  11. Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards in the delivery of mental health services.
  12. Represent Sutter Health in professional conferences and events related to psychology and mental health.
  13. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote the psychology program and increase awareness of mental health services offered by Sutter Health.
  14. Develop and manage the psychology department budget.
  15. Maintain a high level of professionalism and represent Sutter Health’s values and mission in all interactions with patients, staff, and external stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree In Psychology: The Director, Psychology Must Possess A Doctoral Degree In Psychology Or A Closely Related Field From An Accredited University. This Is A Minimum Requirement To Ensure That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Psychological Theory And Research.

  • Valid State License: The Director, Psychology Must Hold A Valid State License To Practice As A Psychologist. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Requirements And Is Qualified To Provide Psychological Services.

  • Previous Leadership Experience: Sutter Health Is Seeking A Candidate With Previous Experience In A Leadership Role Within A Healthcare Setting. This Includes Managing A Team Of Psychologists, Developing And Implementing Programs, And Overseeing Budget And Resource Management.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices: The Director, Psychology Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices In Psychology, And The Ability To Incorporate Them Into Clinical Practice. This Includes Staying Current With Research And Best Practices In The Field.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Leader, The Director, Psychology Must Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With A Diverse Team Of Healthcare Professionals, Patients, And Their Families. This Includes The Ability To Communicate Complex Psychological Concepts In A Clear And Understandable Manner.
