
Director, Protective Services

- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff within all healthcare facilities.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of protective services, including security personnel, emergency management, and risk assessment.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to identify potential security risks and develop strategies to address them.
- Collaborate with other department leaders to create a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan.
- Train and educate staff on safety and security protocols, as well as emergency response procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in protective services to continuously improve and enhance the program.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement and emergency response agencies.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to protective services.
- Provide guidance and support to security personnel, including performance evaluations, training, and scheduling.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related incidents and investigations.
- Develop and manage the department budget, including forecasting and monitoring expenses.
- Conduct regular evaluations and assessments of the protective services program and make recommendations for improvement.
- Act as a liaison between Sutter Health and external agencies, such as government officials and security vendors.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, from frontline employees to executive leadership, to promote a culture of safety and security.
- Represent Sutter Health in community and industry events related to protective services.
Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Security Management, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 10 Years Experience In Protective Services, Security, Or Law Enforcement.
Previous Leadership Experience, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws Related To Protective Services And Security Regulations.
Excellent Communication And Conflict Resolution Skills With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Collaborate With Other Departments.
