  1. Perform cytology testing and analysis on various patient specimens, including Pap smears, fine needle aspirations, and body fluids, following established protocols and procedures.
  2. Utilize microscopy and other diagnostic tools to accurately identify and interpret cellular abnormalities and make appropriate diagnoses.
  3. Maintain strict quality control measures to ensure accuracy and precision in test results.
  4. Stay up-to-date with advancements and changes in cytology techniques and technologies.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including pathologists and clinicians, to provide timely and accurate diagnoses for patient care.
  6. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to protect both patients and laboratory staff.
  7. Keep detailed and accurate records of all test results and maintain patient confidentiality.
  8. Participate in continuing education and training programs to maintain licensure and enhance skills and knowledge.
  9. Assist with the development and implementation of new testing procedures and protocols.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members, providing necessary education and support.
  12. Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards for laboratory testing.
  13. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during testing.
  14. Assist with the ordering and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve laboratory processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  16. Serve as a mentor and resource for other laboratory staff, including training and providing guidance as needed.
  17. Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Cytotechnology, Biology, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) As A Cytotechnologist.

  • Proficiency In Performing And Interpreting Various Cytology Tests, Including Pap Smears And Fine Needle Aspirations.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Document And Report Test Results.
