As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a crucial role in the detection and diagnosis of various diseases by examining cells under a microscope. - Conduct cytology testing on patient samples to identify abnormal cells and aid in the diagnosis of diseases.
- Prepare and examine slides under a microscope to accurately identify and classify cells.
- Perform quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform routine maintenance.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Communicate and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure accurate and timely patient care.
- Document and maintain accurate records of test results, patient information, and quality control measures.
- Participate in continuing education and stay up-to-date with advancements in cytology and laboratory technology.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards, including patient confidentiality and laboratory regulations.
- Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and implementing process changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Mentor and train new laboratory staff and students.
- Demonstrate a commitment to quality and excellence in patient care and customer service.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of laboratory policies and procedures.

Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Environment.
Bachelor's Degree In Cytotechnology Or Closely Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Certification As A Cytotechnologist From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or Equivalent Organization.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Cytotechnologist In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.
Knowledge Of Current Laboratory Practices, Procedures, And Regulations.
