We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Cytotechnologist to join our Clinical Laboratory team. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a crucial role in the detection and diagnosis of various diseases by examining cells under a microscope. The ideal candidate will have a passion for accuracy and attention to detail, along with a strong background in cytology.   1. Conduct cytology testing on patient samples to identify abnormal cells and aid in the diagnosis of diseases.
  2. Prepare and examine slides under a microscope to accurately identify and classify cells.
  3. Perform quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  4. Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform routine maintenance.
  5. Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  6. Communicate and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure accurate and timely patient care.
  7. Document and maintain accurate records of test results, patient information, and quality control measures.
  8. Participate in continuing education and stay up-to-date with advancements in cytology and laboratory technology.
  9. Adhere to ethical and legal standards, including patient confidentiality and laboratory regulations.
  10. Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and implementing process changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  11. Mentor and train new laboratory staff and students.
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to quality and excellence in patient care and customer service.
  13. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of laboratory policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while representing Sutter Health and upholding its values.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Environment.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Cytotechnology Or Closely Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Certification As A Cytotechnologist From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or Equivalent Organization.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Cytotechnologist In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Current Laboratory Practices, Procedures, And Regulations.
