- Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and coding staff to address and resolve any discrepancies or issues found during audits.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance coding accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date on changes and updates to coding guidelines and regulations, and educate staff accordingly.
- Train and educate healthcare providers and coding staff on proper documentation practices and coding guidelines.
- Communicate and collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure consistency and accuracy of coded data.
- Monitor coding and documentation trends and identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate coding and documentation updates and changes to staff in a timely and effective manner.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for coding and documentation guidelines, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and comply with all HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor and report on coding accuracy metrics to leadership.
- Participate in coding and documentation compliance audits.
- Identify and report any potential or actual compliance issues to appropriate parties.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the healthcare field.
- Uphold the organization's values and mission, and adhere to all policies and procedures.
Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.
Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Credential.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Clinical Documentation Improvement (Cdi) And Coding.
Excellent Knowledge Of Coding Guidelines, Reimbursement Systems, And Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Collaborate With Various Healthcare Professionals And Train Staff On Coding And Documentation Best Practices.
