  1. Develop and implement interventions and activities to support children and families during hospitalization and illness.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess the emotional and developmental needs of young patients.
  3. Provide emotional support and therapeutic play to help children cope with medical procedures and treatments.
  4. Educate and prepare children for medical procedures and surgeries in an age-appropriate and sensitive manner.
  5. Work closely with families to provide support and resources to assist in their child's coping and well-being.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of interactions and progress of patients.
  7. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input on the psychosocial needs of patients.
  8. Advocate for the needs of children and their families within the healthcare system.
  9. Collaborate with community organizations to provide additional support and resources for families.
  10. Stay up-to-date on best practices in child life and participate in continuing education opportunities.
  11. Assist in developing and maintaining a child-friendly and welcoming environment within the hospital.
  12. Serve as a resource and provide support to hospital staff in understanding and addressing the emotional needs of pediatric patients.
  13. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality and following safety protocols.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude and demeanor at all times.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve child life services to ensure the highest quality of care for young patients and families.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Or Related Field

  • Certified Child Life Specialist (Ccls) Credential Through The Association Of Child Life Professionals (Aclp)

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working With Pediatric Patients And Families In A Healthcare Setting

  • Strong Knowledge Of Child Development, Coping Strategies, And Therapeutic Play Techniques

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With Interdisciplinary Teams And Provide Emotional Support To Patients And Families During Difficult Situations.
