Charge Nurse, Post Anesthesia Care Unit

1. Lead and supervise a team of nurses in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
2. Ensure the smooth operation of the unit by coordinating and delegating tasks to staff.
3. Provide exceptional patient care in accordance with Sutter Health's mission and values.
4. Act as a resource and mentor for staff, offering guidance and support as needed.
5. Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
6. Monitor and assess patient progress, identifying and addressing any concerns or changes in condition.
7. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, treatments, and medications.
8. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
9. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to provide education and support.
10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices within the unit.
11. Stay current with advancements in medical technology and practices, and incorporate them into patient care as appropriate.
12. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
13. Assist with scheduling and staffing, ensuring adequate coverage and appropriate skill mix.
14. Handle any patient or staff concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
15. Serve as a role model for professionalism, compassion, and teamwork.
