As a member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in providing accurate and timely test results that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients.   1. Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages, following standard protocols and safety measures.
  2. Collect and label specimens accurately and in a timely manner, while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  3. Prepare and process specimens for testing, including centrifuging and aliquoting samples.
  4. Utilize proper handling and storage techniques for various types of specimens.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to laboratory safety and infection control protocols.
  6. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues as needed, and notify appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions.
  7. Assist in the ordering and stocking of supplies to ensure an adequate inventory at all times.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and healthcare professionals to provide excellent customer service and ensure accurate specimen collection.
  9. Follow all laboratory policies, procedures, and quality control standards to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  10. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of phlebotomy.
  11. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by actively participating in team meetings and offering suggestions for process improvements.
  12. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  13. Assist in other laboratory duties as needed, including specimen processing, data entry, and administrative tasks.
  14. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification As A Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Cpt) From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience As A Phlebotomy Technician In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare System.

  • Proficiency In Performing Venipunctures, Capillary Punctures, And Other Blood Collection Techniques, With A Strong Understanding Of Osha And Infection Control Guidelines.

  • Experience With Specimen Processing, Including Labeling, Centrifuging, And Aliquoting Samples For Testing.

  • Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills, With The Ability To Interact Effectively With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Laboratory Staff.
