  1. Collect and process blood samples from patients, following proper phlebotomy techniques and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in testing procedures.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
  3. Verify patient information and ensure proper labeling of samples to avoid errors.
  4. Follow established protocols and procedures for sample handling, transportation, and storage.
  5. Perform quality control checks on equipment and troubleshoot any issues as needed.
  6. Communicate with healthcare professionals and patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
  7. Assist with inventory management, ordering and stocking of supplies.
  8. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
  9. Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
  10. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient laboratory operations.
  11. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  12. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures and results.
  13. Provide excellent customer service to patients and address any concerns or questions they may have.
  14. Remain up to date on current phlebotomy techniques and procedures.
  15. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance the quality of patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Training Program: A Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Cpt) Laboratory Assistant Ii At Sutter Health Should Have Completed A Recognized Phlebotomy Training Program, Ensuring They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Blood Draws And Other Laboratory Procedures Accurately And Safely.

  • Certification As A Cpt: In Addition To Completing A Phlebotomy Training Program, Candidates For A Cpt Laboratory Assistant Ii Position At Sutter Health Should Hold A Current Certification As A Cpt From A Recognized Certifying Agency, Such As The National Healthcareer Association Or The American Society For Clinical Pathology.

  • Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting: A Cpt Laboratory Assistant Ii Should Have Prior Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Environment, As They Will Be Responsible For Performing A Variety Of Laboratory Tasks, Including Specimen Processing And Handling, Equipment Maintenance, And Quality Control Procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols: As A Cpt Laboratory Assistant Ii At Sutter Health, Candidates Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Procedures To Ensure The Safety Of Themselves, Their Colleagues, And Patients.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For A Cpt Laboratory Assistant Ii, As They Will Be Working Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals, Patients, And Laboratory Staff.
