  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive cancer data for the organization, including patient demographics, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes
  • Abstract and code relevant data from medical records, pathology reports, and other sources according to established guidelines and standards
  • Participate in quality control processes to ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to obtain necessary information and resolve discrepancies
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest cancer registry practices and regulations to ensure compliance with national and state reporting requirements
  • Contribute to the advancement of cancer research and treatment by providing data for research studies and clinical trials
  • Participate in tumor board meetings and other multidisciplinary conferences to present and discuss cancer data
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient information
  • Utilize cancer registry software and other electronic tools to input, manage, and report data
  • Train and mentor new cancer registry staff members as needed
  • Attend continuing education programs and workshops to maintain CTR certification and expand knowledge and skills in the field.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Tumor Registrar (Ctr) Designation From The National Cancer Registrars Association (Ncra).

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience As A Cancer Registrar, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Familiarity With Tumor Registry Databases And Electronic Health Records, Such As Epic And Metriq.

  • In-Depth Understanding Of Cancer Terminology, Anatomy, And Staging.

  • Strong Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Accurately Abstract And Code Complex Cancer Data.
