- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cancer cases within the organization.
- Review and analyze patient medical records to determine cancer diagnoses and treatments.
- Collect, code, and enter data into cancer registry databases.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure complete and accurate documentation of cancer cases.
- Stay current with cancer coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and submit cancer data reports to state and national cancer registries.
- Coordinate with other departments to obtain missing information and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with cancer research projects and studies.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on industry changes.
- Act as a resource for healthcare providers and staff regarding cancer registry policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and conferences.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Sutter Health while performing all job duties.

Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.
Certified Tumor Registrar (Ctr) Credential From The National Cancer Registrars Association (Ncra).
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Cancer Registry And Knowledge Of Current Coding And Staging Systems.
Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology.
Excellent Computer Skills, Including Proficiency In Cancer Registry Software And Electronic Medical Records.
