  1. Maintain accurate and complete records of cancer patients according to state and federal regulations.
  2. Collect, analyze, and report cancer data for research and treatment purposes.
  3. Review and verify patient information, including diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes.
  4. Ensure data is entered into electronic health records accurately and efficiently.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate reporting of cancer data.
  6. Stay updated on changes in cancer reporting requirements and regulations.
  7. Communicate with patients and their families to gather necessary information for cancer records.
  8. Train and educate healthcare staff on proper cancer data collection and reporting procedures.
  9. Participate in quality assurance activities to maintain data integrity.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information.
  11. Identify and report any discrepancies or errors in cancer data.
  12. Provide support and assistance to other healthcare professionals in utilizing cancer data for research and treatment purposes.
  13. Attend meetings and conferences to stay updated on advancements in cancer data management.
  14. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.
  15. Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
  16. Continuously strive to improve the efficiency and accuracy of cancer data collection and reporting processes.
  17. Assist in developing and implementing new policies and procedures related to cancer data management.
  18. Maintain a high level of professionalism and sensitivity when working with cancer patients and their families.
  19. Keep accurate and organized records of all cancer data activities.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Tumor Registrar (Ctr) Credential From The National Cancer Registrars Association (Ncra) Or Equivalent Certification.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management, Health Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Cancer Registrar In An Acute Care Hospital Or Cancer Registry Setting.

  • Familiarity With Cancer Registry Software, Such As Coc-Accredited Electronic Registry For Oncology (Caer) Or The National Cancer Institute's Surveillance, Epidemiology, And End Results (Seer) Program.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Cancer Staging, Abstracting, And Coding Standards, Including Icd-O-3, Ajcc, And Seer Summary Stage.
