  1. Obtain authorizations: The Authorization Coordinator III will be responsible for obtaining authorizations for medical services from insurance companies, ensuring timely approval and payment for patients.
  2. Maintain records: This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all authorization requests, approvals, and denials.
  3. Liaise with insurance companies: The coordinator will act as the main point of contact with insurance companies, communicating the patient's needs and ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted for approval.
  4. Follow up on authorizations: The Authorization Coordinator III will track the status of authorization requests and follow up with insurance companies as needed to ensure timely approvals.
  5. Educate patients: The coordinator will be responsible for educating patients on their insurance coverage and authorization processes, answering any questions they may have and providing support and guidance.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare team: This role will work closely with the healthcare team to ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  7. Monitor compliance: The coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all insurance and authorization regulations and making any necessary adjustments to processes.
  8. Troubleshoot issues: The Authorization Coordinator III will be responsible for identifying and troubleshooting any issues related to authorizations, working to find solutions and minimize delays in services for patients.
  9. Provide excellent customer service: This role will involve frequent communication with patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare professionals, requiring excellent customer service skills and a compassionate approach.
  10. Stay updated on industry changes: The coordinator will stay informed on any changes in insurance and authorization processes and regulations to ensure compliance and efficiency in their role.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Rehabilitation Department.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Insurance Verification And Authorization Processes.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Patients, Providers, And Insurance Companies.

  • Proficiency In Electronic Medical Record Systems And Other Relevant Software Programs.
