- Develop and implement art therapy interventions for hospice patients and their families to address emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs.
- Conduct individual and group art therapy sessions, utilizing various art mediums and techniques.
- Assess patients' needs and create individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Provide education to patients, families, and staff on the benefits and purpose of art therapy in hospice care.
- Document and maintain accurate records of patient progress and treatment plans.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients during art therapy sessions.
- Stay updated on current research and best practices in art therapy for hospice care.
- Support and advocate for patients’ and families' emotional well-being and quality of life.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure a collaborative and supportive approach to care.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards, as well as regulatory and legal requirements.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of patients and their families.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Foster a positive and compassionate environment for patients, families, and team members.
Master's Degree In Art Therapy Or Related Field From An Accredited University.
Certification As An Art Therapist By The Art Therapy Credentials Board (Atcb).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As An Art Therapist In A Hospice Or End-Of-Life Care Setting.
Knowledge And Understanding Of The Principles Of Hospice Care And End-Of-Life Issues.
Strong Communication, Interpersonal, And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team.
