- Provide advanced life support to critically ill newborns during transport to and from medical facilities.
- Utilize specialized training and expertise to ensure the safe and efficient transfer of fragile patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care to neonatal patients.
- Monitor and assess patient status during transport, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and treatment provided during transport.
- Implement and adhere to established protocols and procedures for neonatal transport.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and families to provide updates and education on patient care during transport.
- Continuously evaluate and improve transport processes and procedures to ensure the highest quality of care for neonatal patients.
- Adhere to safety standards and infection control protocols to minimize risk during transport.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other nursing staff in neonatal care and transport.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and expand knowledge and skills in neonatal care and transport.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for patients and families during all interactions.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient care.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity when caring for critically ill newborns and their families.
- Represent Sutter Health and the neonatal transport program in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of California, With At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Critical Care Or Neonatal Nursing.
Certification In Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) And Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals).
Completion Of A Recognized Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Course.
Previous Experience In Neonatal Transport Or Working In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu).
Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
