Job Description

Sutter Health is searching for an Advance Life Support Nurse/Neonatal Transport to join our dedicated team in providing life-saving care to critically ill newborns. As an ALS Nurse, you will play a crucial role in our neonatal transport program, utilizing your expertise and specialized training to ensure the safe transfer of these fragile patients. If you have a passion for helping the tiniest and most vulnerable patients, along with the necessary qualifications and experience, we want to hear from you!

  1. Provide advanced life support to critically ill newborns during transport to and from medical facilities.
  2. Utilize specialized training and expertise to ensure the safe and efficient transfer of fragile patients.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care to neonatal patients.
  4. Monitor and assess patient status during transport, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and treatment provided during transport.
  6. Implement and adhere to established protocols and procedures for neonatal transport.
  7. Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and families to provide updates and education on patient care during transport.
  8. Continuously evaluate and improve transport processes and procedures to ensure the highest quality of care for neonatal patients.
  9. Adhere to safety standards and infection control protocols to minimize risk during transport.
  10. Serve as a resource and mentor to other nursing staff in neonatal care and transport.
  11. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and expand knowledge and skills in neonatal care and transport.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and respect for patients and families during all interactions.
  13. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient care.
  14. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity when caring for critically ill newborns and their families.
  15. Represent Sutter Health and the neonatal transport program in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of California, With At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Critical Care Or Neonatal Nursing.

  • Certification In Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) And Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals).

  • Completion Of A Recognized Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Course.

  • Previous Experience In Neonatal Transport Or Working In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu).

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
