  1. Lead and manage the research and development team to drive innovation and develop cutting-edge medical technology products.
  2. Develop and implement strategic plans for research and technology development to support the company's overall goals and objectives.
  3. Identify and evaluate new technologies and trends in the medical industry, and make recommendations for their integration into the company's product portfolio.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, engineering, and regulatory, to ensure alignment and successful execution of research and development projects.
  5. Manage and oversee the budget and resources for the research and development department, ensuring efficient and effective use of funds.
  6. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the research and development team, encouraging creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.
  7. Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and other external partners to drive collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  8. Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure that all research and development activities comply with relevant laws and standards.
  9. Lead and mentor team members, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  10. Present progress reports and updates to senior management and other stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
  11. Conduct market analysis and competitive research to identify potential opportunities and threats, and use this information to inform research and development strategies.
  12. Oversee the development of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, to protect the company's innovations and technologies.
  13. Act as a spokesperson for the company, representing Stryker at industry events, conferences, and other public forums.
  14. Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of research and development projects, and make necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Science Or Engineering: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess An Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Or Materials Science. This Will Ensure That They Have A Strong Understanding Of The Technical Aspects Of Research And Technology Development At Stryker.

  • Extensive Experience In Research And Development: The Director Of Research And Technology Development Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Leading Successful Research And Development Projects, Preferably In The Medical Device Industry. They Should Be Able To Demonstrate Their Ability To Innovate And Bring New Products To Market.

  • Strategic Thinking And Business Acumen: As A Key Member Of The Leadership Team, The Director Of Research And Technology Development Will Be Expected To Contribute To The Overall Strategic Direction Of The Company. They Should Have A Strong Business Acumen And Be Able To Make Data-Driven Decisions That Align With The Company's Goals.

  • Team Management And Leadership Skills: This Position Will Involve Managing A Team Of Researchers And Engineers, So The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Leadership Skills.
