Job Description

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Special Education Advisor at the State of Pennsylvania. In this role, you will use your expertise to provide guidance, support, and advocacy for students with disabilities, their families, and school districts. We are looking for a highly knowledgeable and empathetic individual who can make a positive impact on the special education community in our state.   1. Provide expert guidance and support to students with special needs, their families, and school districts in accordance with state laws and policies.
  2. Stay up-to-date on all current special education laws, policies, and procedures in order to effectively advise and advocate for students.
  3. Work closely with school districts to ensure compliance with special education regulations and promote inclusive practices.
  4. Serve as a resource for families and educators, offering information and support on navigating the special education system.
  5. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, and community organizations, to address the needs of students with special needs.
  6. Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine students' individualized education plans (IEPs) and make recommendations for accommodations and services.
  7. Advocate for students' rights and ensure they receive appropriate and equitable educational opportunities.
  8. Monitor and track the progress of students with special needs, and make recommendations for modifications or changes to their education plans as needed.
  9. Develop and implement training programs for educators and families on best practices for supporting students with special needs.
  10. Participate in meetings and committees related to special education, and provide expertise and insights to inform decision-making processes.
  11. Keep detailed records and documentation of all interactions and interventions with students, families, and school districts.
  12. Continuously seek out opportunities to improve and enhance the special education system in the state of Pennsylvania.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Special Education Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience Working In A Special Education Setting.
