  1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for the state of Pennsylvania in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks.
  3. Collaborate with different departments and agencies to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  4. Provide training to employees on safety procedures and best practices.
  5. Investigate and analyze workplace accidents and incidents, and make recommendations for corrective actions.
  6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives.
  7. Develop emergency response plans and procedures to ensure the safety of citizens in the event of a crisis or disaster.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in safety to continuously improve the state's safety programs.
  9. Communicate with stakeholders, including government officials, employees, and the public, to promote a culture of safety.
  10. Identify and implement cost-effective measures to improve workplace safety.
  11. Maintain accurate records and reports related to safety activities and incidents.
  12. Collaborate with other safety professionals and agencies to share knowledge and resources.
  13. Respond to safety-related inquiries and concerns from employees and citizens.
  14. Participate in safety committees and meetings to provide expert advice and recommendations.
  15. Stay compliant with all safety regulations and standards and ensure the state is in good standing with regulatory agencies.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Health And Safety, Environmental Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Safety Role, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Relevant State And Federal Safety Regulations, Including Osha And Epa Standards.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Train And Educate Employees On Safety Protocols.

  • Certification As A Certified Safety Professional (Csp) Or Occupational Health And Safety Technologist (Ohst) Is Preferred.
