
Police Communications Operator

- Serve as the initial point of contact for all emergency and non-emergency calls, ensuring prompt and efficient responses to all requests for assistance.
- Dispatch appropriate law enforcement, fire, or medical personnel as needed, using established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all calls and dispatches, including pertinent information such as location, nature of the call, and resources deployed.
- Remain calm and composed under pressure, handling high-stress situations with professionalism and a sense of urgency.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with callers, officers, and other emergency personnel, providing clear and concise instructions and updates.
- Monitor and operate various communication systems, including radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch equipment.
- Continuously monitor and assess incoming calls and requests, prioritizing and triaging accordingly.
- Collaborate with other emergency response agencies and departments to coordinate responses and share information.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Attend and participate in ongoing training and education programs to maintain and improve job skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment, adhering to all security protocols and procedures.

High School Diploma Or Ged: A Minimum Educational Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Basic Knowledge And Skills In Reading, Writing, And Communication.
911 Dispatch Certification: Candidates Must Have A Valid 911 Dispatch Certification From An Accredited Institution. This Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Undergone Training In Emergency Call Handling, Radio Dispatching, And Other Relevant Skills.
