  1. Oversee the management and maintenance of all medical records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  2. Ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility of all patient medical records.
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to medical record management and compliance.
  4. Train and supervise staff on proper medical record documentation and storage practices.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure timely and accurate record-keeping.
  6. Monitor and maintain electronic health record systems to ensure proper functionality and security.
  7. Stay updated on changes in state and federal regulations related to medical records and implement necessary changes in policies and procedures.
  8. Oversee the release of medical records to authorized individuals or organizations in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  9. Conduct regular audits to ensure the integrity and completeness of medical records.
  10. Act as a resource for healthcare providers and staff on medical record management and compliance issues.
  11. Communicate with patients and their families regarding medical records and assist with any inquiries or concerns.
  12. Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure proper integration and utilization of electronic health record systems.
  13. Prepare and present reports on medical record management and compliance to upper management and regulatory agencies.
  14. Maintain a thorough understanding of the organization's mission and goals and work towards achieving them through effective medical record management.
  15. Continuously seek ways to improve and streamline medical record processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
