
Geoscience Manager (Minerals Division)

- Develop and implement strategies for the responsible use and management of our state's mineral resources.
- Oversee the exploration, extraction, and production of minerals in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate the environmental impact of mineral resource development and propose mitigation measures as needed.
- Stay updated on the latest geoscience and environmental research and advancements to inform decision making.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure coordinated and effective management of natural resources.
- Supervise and provide guidance to a team of geoscientists and other staff members within the Minerals Division.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of mining operations to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry representatives, environmental groups, and other stakeholders to facilitate communication and cooperation.
- Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and analyses to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Continuously review and improve processes and procedures to optimize the management of mineral resources.
- Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes related to mineral resource management and make necessary adjustments to procedures and practices.
- Represent the department at conferences, workshops, and other events related to geoscience and environmental issues.
- Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the Minerals Division.
- Provide expertise and guidance on geoscience and environmental matters to other departments and agencies within the state government.
- Assist in the development and management of the division's budget and resources.
Bachelor's Degree In Geology, Geosciences, Or A Related Field
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Mineral Resource Management Or Mining Operations
Strong Knowledge Of Pennsylvania's Geology And Mineral Resources
Experience In Managing And Leading A Team Of Geoscientists And Mining Professionals
Familiarity With Relevant State And Federal Regulations And Laws Related To Mineral Resource Management And Mining Operations.
