You will work closely with various agencies and organizations to develop and implement effective emergency plans, coordinate response efforts, and provide vital support to those affected by disasters.To excel in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a strong understanding of emergency management principles and protocols.   1. Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency plans for the state of Pennsylvania to ensure effective response and recovery from disasters and emergencies.
  2. Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as community organizations, to coordinate emergency response efforts and share resources.
  3. Conduct risk assessments and analyze potential hazards to identify areas of vulnerability and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  4. Train and educate community members, emergency responders, and other stakeholders on emergency preparedness and response procedures.
  5. Serve as a liaison between the state government and other agencies during emergency situations to ensure effective communication and coordination of efforts.
  6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of emergency plans and make recommendations for improvements based on lessons learned.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and community leaders to facilitate a coordinated response during emergencies.
  8. Coordinate and lead emergency drills and exercises to test the readiness and effectiveness of emergency plans.
  9. Provide support and assistance to individuals and communities affected by disasters, including coordinating shelter, food, and other essential services.
  10. Stay up-to-date on the latest emergency management protocols and best practices to continuously improve emergency preparedness and response efforts.
  11. Remain on-call and respond to emergencies as needed, including after-hours and on weekends.
  12. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all emergency response activities and expenditures.
  13. Communicate effectively with the public and media during emergency situations to provide accurate and timely information.
  14. Stay informed about potential hazards and threats to the state and provide regular updates and reports to government officials.
  15. Assist with the development and management of budgets related to emergency preparedness and response efforts.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Emergency Management, Disaster Response, Or A Related Field.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Emergency Management Laws, Regulations, And Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With A Diverse Group Of Stakeholders.
