- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency plans for the state of Pennsylvania to ensure effective response and recovery from disasters and emergencies.
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as community organizations, to coordinate emergency response efforts and share resources.
- Conduct risk assessments and analyze potential hazards to identify areas of vulnerability and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Train and educate community members, emergency responders, and other stakeholders on emergency preparedness and response procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between the state government and other agencies during emergency situations to ensure effective communication and coordination of efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of emergency plans and make recommendations for improvements based on lessons learned.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and community leaders to facilitate a coordinated response during emergencies.
- Coordinate and lead emergency drills and exercises to test the readiness and effectiveness of emergency plans.
- Provide support and assistance to individuals and communities affected by disasters, including coordinating shelter, food, and other essential services.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest emergency management protocols and best practices to continuously improve emergency preparedness and response efforts.
- Remain on-call and respond to emergencies as needed, including after-hours and on weekends.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all emergency response activities and expenditures.
- Communicate effectively with the public and media during emergency situations to provide accurate and timely information.
- Stay informed about potential hazards and threats to the state and provide regular updates and reports to government officials.
- Assist with the development and management of budgets related to emergency preparedness and response efforts.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Emergency Management, Disaster Response, Or A Related Field.
Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Emergency Management Laws, Regulations, And Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With A Diverse Group Of Stakeholders.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Make Critical Decisions In High-Pressure Situations.
