Welcome to the State of Pennsylvania's Capitol Police department! We are currently seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team as Capitol Police Officers. As a member of our department, you will play a crucial role in protecting and serving the State Capitol and its surrounding areas.   1. Protect and serve the State Capitol and its surrounding areas as a Capitol Police Officer.
  2. Maintain a high level of physical fitness to effectively carry out duties and responsibilities.
  3. Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, superiors, and the public.
  4. Uphold a high standard of integrity and enforce all laws and regulations in a fair and impartial manner.
  5. Respond promptly and professionally to emergency situations, including but not limited to, criminal activities, medical emergencies, and fire emergencies.
  6. Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and complete detailed reports.
  7. Utilize problem-solving skills and sound judgment to handle and resolve conflicts and difficult situations.
  8. Continuously stay updated on all laws, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness in job duties.
  9. Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and authorities, both within and outside of the State Capitol, to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to all individuals visiting or working in the State Capitol.
  11. Attend training programs and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  12. Serve as a positive representative of the State of Pennsylvania's Capitol Police department and maintain a positive image within the community.
  13. Adhere to departmental rules and regulations, and demonstrate a commitment to the department's mission and values.

Job Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education: Applicants For The Capitol Police Officer Job At State Of Pennsylvania Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.

  • Completion Of A Certified Police Academy: Candidates Must Have Completed A Certified Police Academy Training Program In Order To Be Considered For The Capitol Police Officer Job.

  • Possession Of A Valid Driver's License: A Valid Driver's License Is Required For This Role, As Capitol Police Officers May Need To Operate A Vehicle During The Course Of Their Duties.

  • Physical Fitness And Agility: As A Law Enforcement Officer, Physical Fitness And Agility Are Crucial For Performing The Duties Of A Capitol Police Officer. Applicants Must Pass A Physical Fitness Test As Part Of The Application Process.

  • Background Check And Drug Screening: All Candidates Will Undergo A Thorough Background Check And Drug Screening As Part Of The Hiring Process. Candidates With A History Of Criminal Activity Or Drug Use May Not Be Eligible For The Role.
