  1. Organizing and managing the State of Pennsylvania's collection of records, including photographs, maps, and manuscripts.
  2. Ensuring the preservation and conservation of historical documents and artifacts.
  3. Developing and implementing methods for cataloging and storing archival materials.
  4. Collaborating with other archivists and historians to acquire new materials for the state's collection.
  5. Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all items in the collection.
  6. Creating finding aids and other tools to facilitate access to the collection for researchers and the general public.
  7. Assisting researchers and visitors with locating and using materials within the collection.
  8. Identifying and addressing any preservation or conservation needs of the collection.
  9. Staying up-to-date on best practices and techniques in archival management and preservation.
  10. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to the management and preservation of archival materials.
  11. Training and supervising staff and volunteers involved in the management of the state's collection.
  12. Collaborating with other state agencies and organizations to promote and share the state's archival resources.
  13. Participating in outreach and educational programs to raise awareness and appreciation for the state's history and archives.
  14. Maintaining a clean, organized, and secure archival storage environment.
  15. Adhering to ethical standards and principles of the archival profession.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Library Science, Archival Studies, Or Related Field.

  • Knowledge Of Archival Principles, Standards, And Best Practices, Including Arrangement, Description, Preservation, And Access.

  • Experience Working With Electronic Records And Digital Preservation.

  • Familiarity With State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Records Management And Preservation.

  • Excellent Organizational, Communication, And Problem-Solving Skills.
