
ANTHRACITE UNDERGROUND MINE INSPECTOR

- Conduct thorough inspections of anthracite underground mines to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of mining regulations and stay up-to-date on any changes or updates.
- Identify potential hazards and safety risks in mines and work with mine operators to implement corrective actions.
- Document and report any violations or non-compliance issues found during inspections.
- Communicate effectively with mine operators, employees, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide guidance on regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other department staff and agencies to coordinate inspections and share information.
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence in the event of accidents or incidents at mine sites.
- Provide training and education to mine operators and employees on safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of inspections, investigations, and other activities.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in mining technology to ensure effective and efficient inspections.
- Act as a representative of the department and promote its mission and values.
- Attend meetings and conferences related to mining and environmental regulations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures related to mining inspections.
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of mine inspections.
Bachelor's Degree In Mining Engineering, Geology, Or A Related Field.
At Least 5 Years Of Experience Working In An Underground Anthracite Mine.
Certified As An Underground Mine Foreman Or Mine Inspector By The State Of Pennsylvania.
Strong Knowledge Of State And Federal Mine Safety Regulations, Including Msha Regulations.
Excellent Communication And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Inspect And Identify Potential Safety Hazards In Underground Mines.
