We are seeking an Adaptive Equipment Technician to join our team and help us fulfill our mission of improving the quality of life for all Pennsylvanians. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring that individuals with disabilities have access to the adaptive equipment they need to live independently and thrive in their daily lives.   1. Provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities in obtaining and utilizing adaptive equipment.
  2. Conduct assessments to determine the specific needs of each individual and recommend appropriate adaptive equipment.
  3. Collaborate with other team members to develop individualized plans for each client.
  4. Install, set up, and maintain adaptive equipment in homes and other facilities.
  5. Train individuals and their caregivers on how to properly use and maintain adaptive equipment.
  6. Stay up-to-date on the latest adaptive equipment technology and research to ensure the most effective and efficient services are provided.
  7. Work closely with vendors and suppliers to obtain the necessary equipment and negotiate pricing.
  8. Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, repairs, and replacements.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with adaptive equipment.
  10. Adhere to all safety and quality standards when installing and maintaining equipment.
  11. Continuously evaluate and improve services to meet the evolving needs of individuals with disabilities.
  12. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  13. Collaborate with community organizations and resources to expand services and support for individuals with disabilities.
  14. Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations related to adaptive equipment.
  15. Communicate effectively with individuals with disabilities, their families, and other team members to ensure a holistic and person-centered approach to service delivery.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Adaptive Equipment: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Adaptive Equipment, Including Different Types, Uses, And Maintenance Procedures.

  • Certification And Training: A Relevant Certification Or Training In Adaptive Equipment Technology Or A Related Field Is Required For This Job. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Perform The Job Effectively.

  • Experience With Assistive Technology: Previous Experience Working With Assistive Technology Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Could Include Experience In Installing, Repairing, And Maintaining Adaptive Equipment.

  • Strong Technical And Mechanical Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Technical And Mechanical Skills To Troubleshoot And Repair Complex Adaptive Equipment. They Should Also Be Able To Read And Interpret Technical Manuals And Diagrams.

  • Attention To Detail: As An Adaptive Equipment Technician, Attention To Detail Is Critical To Ensure The Equipment Is Functioning Correctly And Safely. The Candidate Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Spot Potential Issues Before They Become Bigger Problems.
