Advanced Degree In Epidemiology Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Epidemiology Or A Closely Related Field Is Typically Required For A Research Scientist 3/4 Position In Epidemiology At The State Of New York. A Phd Or Other Advanced Degree May Be Preferred For A Research Scientist 4 Position.
Extensive Research Experience: Candidates Should Have A Demonstrated Track Record Of Conducting High-Quality Epidemiologic Research, Preferably In A Public Health Setting. This May Include Experience With Study Design, Data Collection And Analysis, And Publication Of Findings.
Knowledge Of Epidemiologic Methods And Techniques: Strong Knowledge Of Epidemiologic Principles, Methods, And Techniques Is Essential For This Position. Candidates Should Be Familiar With A Variety Of Study Designs, Statistical Methods, And Data Analysis Software.
Experience With Public Health Data: Experience Working With Large, Complex Datasets, Such As Those From National Surveys Or Administrative Databases, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. Familiarity With Data Management And Analysis Software, Such As Sas Or R, Is Also Preferred.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: Research Scientists At The State Of New York Are Expected To Work Closely With Colleagues, Stakeholders, And External Partners. Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, As Well As The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Are Key Qualifications For This Position.
